Well, I'm doing what I told myself I wasn't going to do.  I'm going to spend just one more month talking about Medicare Part D.  After December, I will take a Medicare Part D vacation until next fall.  We have been hitting Medicare Part D pretty hard since September.  We have gone over premiums, deductibles, copays, the gap, and almost anything else relating to Medicare Part D.  I was going to make December's article a little lighter, but I just can resist one more opportunity.  Why?  Because I am SO excited about the success that we have had with Medicare Part D scans over the last month.

In case you have not been keeping up with my most recent articles, I want to remind all seniors that Cooper Drug Store is currently running scans to help customers narrow their choices down to two or three of the most affordable plans to meet their needs for 2011.  We are even comparing seniors' current plans head-to-head with other more affordable options.  Each scan is as unique as our valued customers, because each customer's medications dictate which plans would be the best value to him or her.  The open enrollment period began back on November 15th and will run until December 31st , so it is not too late.  Although this service is currently available to Cooper Drug and Golden Plains customers only, we are happily extending this service to future loyal customers ready to give us a try in 2011!

To show you the true success of the service so far, I want to share some figures to demonstrate how important it is to check up on your current plan going into a new year.  We have performed 67 scans so far as of this writing and have saved those customers on average $357.95!  Most scans show a potential savings of 100 to 500 dollars on average, but there are a handful of scans that show a potential savings of over a thousand dollars!

As we wrap up this holiday season (no pun intended), I would like to thank all of our loyal customers of Cooper Drug Store and Golden Plains that have supported us this past year through either our pharmacy, medical supply department, or gift department.  We wish you happy holiday season and we will look forward to serving you in 2011.
